He wants to get veterans involved in the club in order to get involved on campus. How can members of ASPCC help you? Having the resources, working hand in hand to make each other aware of the services there are on campus. Unanimous approval 3.2.4 Sasha Nguyen (Theatre Club) Sasha has been involved with theater for about 2 years. She is knowledgeable with theater and the productions that are going on at Rock Creek. What got you interested in this position? Wants to recruit more people for theatre club. Unanimous approval 3.3 Community Service Project Proposals 3.3.1 AMT Club- Edwin Butler Dismantling aircraft fuselage to scrap metal and turn this money into a scholarship. Refer any questions about scholarship to Marshall. Approved 3.3.2 Landscape Club- Richell Chiu Money from plant sales serve to pay for scholarships and to offset fees related to that department. Approved 3.3.3 Latino Outreach Club- Eric Ruiz Approved 3.4 Community Service Project Reports 3.4.1 Landscape Club-Richell Chiu Fall plant sale, raised $1600 for a scholarship. Logged 88 hrs with about 14-15 club members participate. Can only get $250 per term (30 hrs). Goal of 1200 students were registered on campus. Present: Intrapersonal Violence Awareness Week October 15th-18th activities will include Clothesline Project, discussions about violence in our Queer communities and a discussion about women of color & violence. Parenting Club Meeting Tuesday 4-5pm @ WRC La mission movie will be shown October 17th, 2012 from 3-5pm at the Women’s Resource Center. Pizza and Popcorn will be provided. Past ● ● Welcome Tables○ Peers staffed the table in front of bld. 9 to welcome students on the first days of school. ○ Provided handouts, treats & answered questions. Volunteer at Highschool Scholarship Workshop @ PCC○ Helped Beaverton school district highschool students complete scholarship essays and participate in a college student panel. Present ● Peer Advising○ Career peers work at the center and helped several students research careers, schools or take career assessments throughout the week. ● On-going Peer Training○ The peers are being trained throughout the year on new material to ensure we can help students as best as possible. ● Bulletin Boards ○ Currently working on getting our bulletin boards all around campus posted w/ our new flyers & info. ○ Our facebook page has also been updated & continuosly been kept posted. Queer Resource Center Report October 8-12 Past - Tabling during Club - October 11 Coming out day/ QRC Birthday o Mandy and Judy Zimmerman Couple spoke about the history of the QRC and about the importance of coming out and being an ally o We had cupcakes and cake to celebrate the QRC 1st Birthday o Advertising will be done using Facebook, fliers and word of mouth o Number of people expected to attend is 90, we had around 80+ students participating - October 11 o Ulises and Kevin will be attended the ACUI conference in Eugene Present -National Domestic Violence Week , Wednesday October 11 the WRC and the QRC are collaborating in showing "La Mission" in the women's resource center. - Discussion to follow Future - We are starting the QSA (Queer Straight Alliance) Club, those who are interested in being part of the club come to the QRC to sign up Veterans Resource Center Past : Held Staff meeting on Tuesday October 9th Decided to hire 2 new personnel for VRC Scheduled pizza meet and greet for Student veterans club Began pre- planning for Veterans Ball and Holiday events 17 signups at the club fair and raised awareness of our club Assisted another 14 vets with various questions regarding school/benefits.
