SHINE Funding Information
“The Associated Students of Portland Community College are dedicated to expressing the needs of the
student community to PCC Administrators, Faculty, Board of Directors, and state and local political
figures through campus committee work and political activity. We are here to serve the student
community by implementing services and programs that are responsive to students' changing needs.”
SHINE (Students Helping Instructors Nurture Education) is looking for creative educational programs to support.
This fund was created by the ASPCC (Associated Students of Portland Community College) to help instructors offer
exceptional ways to improve classroom experiences as a collaborative approach between students and faculty.
SHINE requests are funded through the ASPCC Sylvania budget, which is allocated from the student activity fees.
In order to enhance the classroom learning environment, instructors may petition for funding for performers and
speakers. Instructors may request a total of $300 in SHINE funds per academic school year. ASPCC requests the
instructor commit to including the event as part of the class and open it to all students.
The SHINE application is on the reverse side of this information sheet. Additional applications may be picked up in
the ASPCC office located in CC 101.

not be considered without the completed W-9 Form. Previous W-9 Forms will not be accepted)

Communications team here: http://www.pcc.edu/resources/aspcc/sylvania/design.html. Please keep in
