UNDERGRADUATE and GRADUATE COURSES
The course offerings in the Schedule of Classes are organized under five main areas that appear in the following order:
General Education Core Courses
College of Arts and Communication
College of Business and Economics
College of Education
College of Letters and Science
Each of the five areas lists its associated courses in alphabetical order first by department/subject and then by course number. For
example, ENGLISH (department/subject) courses are listed under the College of Letters and Sciences area, and ENGLISH 102 (course
number) appears before ENGLISH 206.
Undergraduate courses are numbered 100-499; graduate courses 500-799. Graduate admission is required for courses 500 and above.
Classes meet for three or six week periods, unless indicated otherwise. There is a break between classes with most classes starting at 7:30,
9:05, 10:45, 12:20, 2:00, 3:35. No morning classes begin before 7:30; therefore, any class listed with a 6:00, 6:30, or 7:00 starting time is an
evening class. No classes will be held on July 4.
.
Special messages and requisites always refer to the course immediately preceding the message. The four-digit class number always appears
below the course subject area, number and title. If students wish to petition to get into a course for which they do not meet the
requirements, they should contact the department offering the course and request approval in advance for authorization to add the course
by WINS. Students are responsible for meeting the published requirements before registering. Not all requisites are published in this
Schedule of Classes but they are noted in the published UWW Catalog or online at http://www.uww.edu/Catalog/ for Undergraduate
courses and http://www.uww.edu/gradstudies/catalog.html for Graduate courses.
Prerequisite - A requirement that must be satisfied before registering for the course. There are three types of prerequisites:
a)
Course(s) which must be successfully completed or in progress.
b)
Academic requirements i.e., curriculum, major, minor, classification or GPA.
c)
Consent of instructor, minimum credits in the discipline, minimum grade. etc.
Corequisite - A course which must be completed prior to, or concurrent with, registration for the specified course.
If a prerequisite or a corequisite course has been completed prior to Fall Term 1979-80, inform the Registrar’s Office in Baker Hall (call
262-472-1211 or email <registrar@uww.edu>) of this fact prior to registration. Students will not be scheduled into the courses unless they
meet the requisites, or they have an override entered on WINS by the department offering the course.
