The department seeks candidates who have a commitment to teaching British literature from a dynamic, politically and culturally informed perspective rather than from the strict confinement of periodization. A demonstrated interest in the study of empire and/or the visual culture of the period is desirable. Teaching duties include advanced undergraduate and graduate courses in the field of expertise and other courses in the curriculum appropriate to the candidate’s training and interests. The teaching load is three courses per semester. UWG, a comprehensive state university within the University System of Georgia, is located about 45 miles west of Atlanta. AA/EOE. QUALIFICATIONS: A Ph.D. in English, a strong commitment to teaching at all levels, and an active research agenda are required. SALARY: Competitive.
