Internship Michelle gave a report about the internship job description and referred to the list of tasks from the SSU written Sub-Committee report on 1/13/12. Restructuring Program Offerings Discussion was held about changing the calendar for luncheons, because of the lower number of those who come to the luncheons. It was decided that there would be no luncheon this Spring, however a reception could be held in April for new retirees, with invitations sent to ERFA members, staff and administration. The possible time for the reception would be from 3-5 p.m. Michelle recommended that a sub-committee should work on this. The committee agreed. The sub-committee will be Michelle and John. An intern will be be included to provide assistance, if one is available. It will be necessary to notify ERFA members about the possible changes in the luncheon schedule, etc. Fall Schedule for Luncheons Discussion was held about plans for the Fall Schedule. A possible seminar was suggested for September 27, which would focus on Estate Planning. OLLI students and Alumni Association members would be invited. Sally Hurtado will check with Julie and Michelle Covington about the idea. It was recommended that the ERFA luncheon be scheduled for November. A date needs to be selected. It was recommended that the Provost be asked to be the Speaker. New members of ERFA would be encouraged to come to the luncheon. John and Sally will work on planning for the luncheon soon. Notification of ERFA members Discussion was held about the need to send a letter to ERFA members in order to notify them that this Spring and in the Fall (2012) there will be one luncheon, not two during each semester.. Sally will ask the ERFA Statewide office when the retiree list for potential ERFA members will be available. Development of letter from SSU-ERFA---for new retirees An example is the October 25, 2011 letter to “John Kramer”. Michael Pinskston will develop a new letter and also a thank you letter for joining ERFA. Report from Michael Pinkston Michael discussed his role as a representative on the Academic Senate, possibly serving as a consultant.
