SFCC Hires New Vice President for Administrative Services
Jan. 31, 2005 — Santa Fe Community College has hired Farhad Javaheripour as the
college’s new vice president for administrative services.
Mr. Javaheripour has more than 23 years of experience in administration, finances,
human resources and information technology at the University of New Mexico. He most
recently worked as the director of business operations at the UNM Gallup campus where
he oversaw the budget, financial reports, human resources and accounting.
Mr. Javaheripour previously directed media technology services at the UNM
Albuquerque campus, a department where he began working in 1981. He also taught
classes in educational technology and education at UNM.
He has a master’s degree in business administration and is set to complete his dissertation
for a doctoral degree in educational leadership in May 2005.
“I am excited about joining the SFCC team to serve the students, faculty and staff. I
especially look forward to working on the Welcome Center Project, which will improve
the administrative services to the student body at Santa Fe Community College,” Mr.
Javaheripour said.

The Welcome Center project at Santa Fe Community College is a one-stop service center
where a student can fill out an application, receive advisement regarding the required
courses, complete financial aid forms, register and make payment arrangements with a
single SFCC staff member. The college’s new Welcome Center eliminates the
unnecessary waiting time at different offices to accomplish these tasks. SFCC will be
among a handful community colleges in the United States that provide this type of
convenient service to their students.
At SFCC, Javaheripour will be responsible for the administrative services staff, including
admissions, student financial aid, student employment, cashiering, registrations, student
records, business operations, office of information technology, general services, auxiliary
services, human resources, payroll, employee benefits, fixed assets, purchasing, plant
operations and maintenance, safety and security services, new construction, and renewal
and replacement of campus facilities and grounds.
