Qualifications
Application and Assignment Process











Complete an application and submit it to the Internship Coordinator at the address indicated below; Attn:
Chauncey Robinson.
You must be a U.S. Citizen or eligible to work in the U.S.
You must be at least age 19.
You must have a valid Student ID and a California Driver’s License or ID; you must submit a copy of
both with your application.
You must also submit proof of your class enrollment with your application and a resume. If you
have already graduated from a four year university or college just put the school’s name and
degree you earned; you must still submit a resume.
On the Conviction History Form put Student Intern where it says position applied for and the department
is Adult Probation. You must fill out this form in addition to the fingerprint application.
If chosen, you will be contacted for an interview once you turn in the application packet, however if

If you are accepted for the internship, you will be contacted to schedule a time for you to be fingerprinted.
You will also be subjected to a background, criminal and vehicle record check.
Upon clearance, you will receive notification on your start date. At that time you will sign a
Memorandum of Understanding and receive the name and phone number of the officer/unit you will be
assigned to.
The Probation Officer and/or supervisor you are assigned to will be responsible for signing-off on your
hours and evaluating your work, if applicable.
You may be issued a identification card that is the property of the San Francisco Adult Probation
Department and must be returned upon completion of your internship.
Duties
Generally, a Student Intern will have limited duties assisting a Probation Officer with their assignments including
investigative work, administrative duties, data input, report writing, interviewing and other tasks as it relates to
the job.
The Probation Department retains full right in choosing or rejecting an application at will and is
under no obligation to disclose reasons for their decision.
