LECTURE EXAM GUIDELINES - BIOLOGY 2420 You will receive 45 two point multiple choice questions for a total of 90 points. You must provide a Scantron ( Form No. 882 - ES OR EQUIVALENT) and appropriate pencils for use in answering these questions. Certain exams will also require you to bring a calculator as well. You will also receive a separate written answer sheet containing three essay - type questions. You will be responsible for answering two of these essays or calculation questions, per instructions on the answer sheet. The third MAY be answered for up to a possible 5 BONUS points. The exam therefore will be worth a MAXIMUM of 105 points. THE USE OF ANY UNAUTHORIZED ELECTRONIC DEVICE DURING EXAMINATIONS OR POST EXAM TEST REVIEW SESSIONS IS CHEATING AND WILL RESULT IN COURSE FAILURE!! You will have up to one hour and thirty minutes, measured from five minutes after the start of class, to complete the exam. Tardy arrival for the exam is INCLUDED in this time limit, and will be held against the late student!!! At the end of the exam, the instructor will take fifteen minutes to scan score the objective portion of the exam. You will then have the opportunity to view your scan score, and check the answer key for the remainder of the class session. (or for FIFTEEN MINUTES if no student returns to the classroom - I'm not waiting in an empty room!) Any questions or comments about your score, or any exam question, must be made AT THAT TIME - they will not be entertained subsequently! Points lost due to erasure smudges or incorrect selection technique on scantron score sheets WILL NOT be credited back to the student. Record your answers on the scantron sheet with care!!! Your essays will be graded and your completed score returned to you WITHIN ONE WEEK of the exam, on an "official date of return". You will have the opportunity then to inspect your essay sheets and record your total score for future reference. The answer key for Scantrons WILL NOT BE AVAILABLE AT THAT TIME!!! After 5 - 10 minutes, the exam items will be collected for permanent record of the exam event.
