The starting and ending times are approximate. This meeting is to be called under the authority of the California Government Code Section 54956. The Board invites public testimony in conjunction with each item of business after formal discussion. Meeting resumed at at 3:50PM. Hossaeini motioned to approve the minutes with the following correction of Public Forum member Alexandra Maeck was written as “Meck” and Oscar’s officer report stated there would be no Joint Council meeting this Thursday instead of Tuesday. No objections. Public Forum This time is reserved for members of the public to address the Board on issues not already appearing on the agenda. Each member will be limited to a total of Three (3) minutes. (Limited to 20 minutes) Rick: BET Shake challenge seems to be inactive, website seems out of date, Charity Tollfree: Members of the ASG board should begin filling out their stipend requests. Reports (Each member will be limited to a total of Five (5) minutes) A. President’s Report Negative check off should be functioning for every student. All fees should be able to be paid through the Student Portal. The issue of students having to visit the Business Office for receipts B. Officer Reports/Committee Reports Hogue: Currently looking into getting a live feed for the plasma TVs in the Student Union building. Recently gained access to the lacitycollege.edu website. Currently negative check-off has not been in effect. Hossaeini: Dr. Schwartz has access to staff of various different sports. Club Council meeting has been setback to a later date. Berry: Support Staff meeting was last week. Currently some staff members have been assigned to certain ASG members. Harvey: This week’s finance meeting went a lot better. Oscar: Last meeting for the semester will be December 3rd; all requests should be processed before then. After the December 3rd meeting there will be an event going on until 7:30PM. The Toy Drive will be coordinated between the BSU Club and Armenian Club. Ask clubs and departments know if they would like to donate or participate in the toy drive. December 10th is the end of the toy drive. Gabriel: Thank you to Harvey for earning $200 for the Health Fair. African Club will be hosting a fundraiser at the event. Inquired about receiving permanent signs to help the visually impaired. Henry: Teamed up with the Biology Club for a fundraiser???? Toure: Communication officer was impeached. The results of that meeting were voided. Bantog: AFT Committee met today. Committee will be planning an AFT Outreach Week in order to get tenure as well as adjunct professors to join the union. C. Advisor’s Report Dream Center will be reported under Discussion Items. Discussion Items (Each Discussion Item is limited to a total of Ten (10) minutes) A. Dream Center AB540 students are undocumented students have been living in California for 3 years and are able to pay in-state tuition fees. Administration is requesting that an area for AB540 students be created to help them feel apart of campus life as well as a part-time counselor. The current idea is to allocate Student Lounge Study Room D. Concerns were raised about whether or not they should be placed in a different space such as the International Students building, new Student Services building, or a vacant office. The reason why this location was chosen was because this area is the most active in campus activity. NOTICE: In compliance with the Ralph M. C. VII. Holiday Party Planned to be on December 3rd as a potluck after the Senate meeting around 5:30PM. Other administrative departments will be invited. A Secret Santa game will be planned as well. SSCCC General Assembly Resolutions Packet The board votes yes to F15-01. The board votes yes to F15-02. The board votes no to F15-03. The board votes yes to F15-04. The board votes no to F15-05. The board votes yes to F15-07. The board votes no to F15-08. The board votes no to F15-09. Henry motioned to recess for 10 minutes. Hogue motioned to end action item B and allow the attending SSCCC to vote on the items and continue the remaining action items Oscar objects. Motion passed. $400.00 for Student Health Fair Harvey motioned $400.00 for Student Health Fair from Health Fair account #5630. However, only $200 dollars was approved for the Student Health Fair in the Finance Committee. Event will be held on November 19th. Hossaeini motioned to amend the item from $400 to $200. Oscar voted yes, Harvey voted yes, Hossaeini voted yes, Berry voted yes, Henry voted yes, Shakhbazyan voted yes, Hogue voted yes, Dixon voted yes, Mendez voted yes. Motion passed unanimously. Item was motioned to approve $200 for the Student Health Fair. Oscar voted yes, Harvey voted yes, Hossaeini voted yes, Henry voted yes, Shakhbazyan voted yes, Hogue voted yes, Dixon voted yes, Mendez voted yes. Motion passed unanimously to have the event at $200. $322.23 for the French Club End-of-Semester event Hossaeini motioned to allocate $322.23 for the French Club End-of-Semester event from Campus Activities account #5830. Event must be open to everyone. Events sponsored by ASG must properly state they are ASG sponsored.
