Project Title: Renaissance Period
Project Goal(s): Give students the opportunity to see a period of art
Process and Steps:
Showed slides, i.e. Mona Lisa. Students chose an artist to copy, they sketched and then
painted the art piece
Materials Needed:
Slides, paint, paper, art prints
Essential Questions:
What are the elements of that period. What did the picture represent, who purchased the
art work.

brush strokes, chance to make observations, age of discovery, to see famous paintings
2. How did you assess the children’s understanding?
Followed directions, used the material correctly

Writing about the period, Science, i.e. gravity.

I want the students to be exposed to the different periods, to give them the background of
art, because everything is based on the past.
