FAS and the
Balanced Scorecard
Building a Data-Driven and
Strategy-Focused Organization
How the BSC Works
The Balanced Scorecard asks
an organization to view their
progress towards achieving
their strategy through four
perspectives:
– People
– Processes
– Customers
– Resources/Regulations
How the BSC Works (cont.)
• A Strategy Map is created,
which identifies objectives
within the four perspectives,
and shows the cause and
effect relationships between
those objectives.
• Meaningful metrics are
developed that measure
progress towards achieving
the objectives.
