Financial Aid – Teach Grant Presentation: Julie Lindenmeier, Laura Trax
Merit based grant for students (must have a FAFSA on file)
Up to $4,000 annually
Students sign a service agreement and complete all required conseling prior to receiving a
TEACH Grant.
National and California Specific Shortages
Based on enrollment. Full time = $4,000
Aggregate amounts: Undergrad/Post-Bac= $16,000; Master’s Program =$8,000
GPA requirement = Must have 3.25; 75th percentile of standardized school admission test

Counseling for Teach Grants available at Financial Aid for accepting the grant
Teach follows the Pell recalculation rules. At census TEACH will be recalcutated to match
enrollment.
Service Agreement: a year of teaching (12 months consecutive); person as a highly qualified
teacher. If student does not go on to teach, the grant turns into a loan. Confirmation of service
obligation is between the student and the servicer.

1. (Escalante) edTPA updates
Task 2 and 4 being scored
Saturday December 12 support class by subject area
2. (Landin) Assessment Updates
Master’s/JDP Assessment – Univeristy Feedback indicated both programs are “Developed”
No feedback for improvement.
Exit survey and supervisor’s survey has been sent out.
3. (Hernandez/Elsbree) MA advising and compensation
Need to push for additional compensation for MA advising
What supports are available for students who are struggling with the writing process and
research methods?
How can students find editors? Could we create a pool of good editors?
Review content taught in EDUC 622 Research Methods/template for curriculum.
Training/support for qualitative and quantitative software for students.
Need for Tenure-line faculty to teach EDUC 622.
New Business
1. (Gonzalez) JDP updates – email will be sent to the group
2. (Robledo) Autism Authorization –
“Inactive” Process through CCTC and University granted by the committee.
Robledo will follow up with Dr. Vargas about this process.
3. (Rich) New SOC form and process –
Form is difficult to use and save
10 day coming back to see if issue has been addressed is not useful
Committee to meet with Shannon/Denise to discuss how to revise the formatting of this
form.
Julie, John, Jodi, Sherry, Gilbert and Erika will work on this issue as a group.
Update planned for Febuary Agenda.
4. (Siyahaan) EDUC 422 Taskstream
Digital portfolios to be uploaded to taskstream by students.
Instructors have expressed challenges with taskstream.
Currently that data is not being looked at by any program.
Committee agreed to eliminate taskstream use for EDUC 422.
5. (Hernandez) Catalog revisions
Specific criteria for making changes to catalog.
Henrandez will contact Academic Programs about changes that have not occured.
Handbook for SOE needs to be updated/made available to students.
Dr. Vargas will contact Melinda about developing/editing this handbook. Melinda will
contact Marilyn about supporting this process.

ANNOUNCEMENTS
Ochanji - Prereq couses will be added through EL.
Daniels – Shared information from Safety/Emergency Training (Robert Williams). 1 hour
training. Ochanji to connect with Robert about coming to our January retreat.
VanVorren – Update on IB program. Currently adding the diploma program which will launch in
March. Adding programs in India. February – Vista Unified will have an IB day. Date to be
announced.
Stowell – Writing Project - 6 units of graduate credit. Share with students. Choice of 4 courses.
