The final report is due December 30, 2006. Project End Date: February 1, 2007 PROJECT ABSTRACT: The Center for Desert Archaeology will conduct an intensive archaeological inventory (100% coverage) of three prescribed burn units in El Malpais National Monument. The sites will be documented to NPS and State of New Mexico standards. The survey results will allow EL Malpais to meet its Section 110 obligations for cultural resources identification, assessment, and evaluation and its compliance obligations for undertakings under section 106 of the National Historic Preservation Act, 1966 as amended.
