[for the catalog] M.A. in English: Rhetoric and the Teaching of Writing For this 36-unit plan, you take: • 5 graduate Rhetoric and Writing courses (15 units) from the following: Eng 501, Eng 503, Eng 511, Eng 519, Eng 520, Eng 521, Eng 570, Eng 610, and Eng 631. • ENG 685 • 6 elective courses (18 units), chosen with your advisor’s approval. A minimum of 24 hours of coursework must be from the NAU English Department. (Please note that you can substitute Eng 699 for Eng 685. No more than 6 units of ENG 699 may be applied to your degree. If you are interested in writing a thesis, you should consult with your advisor early in your plan.
