Minutes: Minutes from August 3 and 9th meetings have been postponed until next meeting:
 Jo Ann:
 While on vacation from September 10 through 24th, Bob will be acting VP, except for
September 22, when Mike will be acting VP.
 If construction issues/picketing issues come up, please get Mike involved.
 Clarification on the Altris software issue at Compton.
 President would like Bob to prepare three proposals and three names by the next board
meeting.
 President would like Bob or Bovis to prepare an analysis on the HPS contract change
order.
 Babs email the list of areas that was looked at for cash control at ECC
Committee Reports/Division Issues:
 Bob:
 MCS building modernization project.
 LPA has been chosen for the design phase for the Stadium/Track project.
 First meeting of the project management team for the Shops building is today at 1pm.
 Users groups meeting with the architect for the Shops building is being schedule for
Fridays.
 Fiscal and Business Services move to new building is postponed to September 24.
 Last spring, it was discovered that the floors in two Humanities classroom have risen three
quarter of an inch. This summer soil samples showed that there is excess saturation due to
the landscaped area adjacent to the building. Recommendations are currently being
reviewed.
 Mike:
 Working with Athletic Director and Dean of Health Sciences and Athletics in being
proactive on safety. Three presentations have been done in P.E classes regarding safety.
 Getting the word out on campus watch participation.
 Increase in individuals asking question through texting and email.
 Officers are walking around campus instead of driving.
 First week of school at ECC:
 There were 1,291 emergency calls of which 350 were 911 calls.
 There were 394 calls for services.
 There were 148 citations issued.
 First week of school at the Center:
 There were 11 emergency calls.
 There were 99 calls for service
 There were 140 citations issued.
 Satish:
 48,000 login on the portal for the first day of classes.
 Sunday, August 29 at midnight there were 3,600 login on the portal.
 115 laptops have been issued to the faculty as of September 8.
 Board of Governors will be meeting at ECC on November 8-9.
 Datatel has issued a new application for iPhone. When this new software is installed, it
will give students access to their class schedule, important phone numbers, map of the
campus, campus announcement and notification. GPS coordinates have to be entered.
Goal is to link this to the portal.
