Web Standards Draft distributed. All Committee Members will review and offer feedback. Web Accessibility Discussed that our pages were all checked for 508 compliancy before launching the website, Lyn Clemons stated a logo for bobby/508 compliant should be placed on our homepage. Credits should be added to the Communication Standards Guidelines (Web Section) for site wide ADA compliancy. Adobe Acrobat Standard Software for creating word, ms publisher documents etc… to PDF Adobe Acrobat Standard Software was discussed as a standard software program to implement campus wide for all web users to convert necessary files to post to their web pages. IT will need to be contacted for campus wide site licensing. Budgets need to be discussed to implement as necessary. In the meantime if your department doesn’t have it you can send the files to Melanie Graves to convert to PDF. ECC Web Address for Printed Publications All printed publications should have the ECC web address only. Example: http://www.elcamino.edu Departments should not list their individual web pages on printed materials, such as http://www.elcamino.edu/studentservices/fao/ - (Financial Aid Office) This will eliminate the need to reprint documents if directories or web pages change locations on the ECC web server. Online Web Calendar All Departments can be issued their own department web calendar accessible to users of www.elcamino.edu – via Calendar of Events. This calendar should be requested through Melanie Graves, mgraves@elcamino.edu or ext. 3883. A demo of the calendar will be presented at the June 15 web meeting. This calendar is to be used to post student/campus wide events, and dates of interest to the general public. All department meetings, internal announcements should be posted to the Outlook Calendar. Web Trends A software tool is currently available on the ECC web server that will allow campus wide tracking of all web pages. This will give various stats on unique visitors, hits to pages, top pages, directories visited, etc…The link below will be sent to all web committee members to view current stats of the general web pages of the ECC web site. http://infonet/its/network_support/stats/index.asp Please check January 2006 statistics for www.elcamino.edu that is the only month tracked so far. The details of the tracking features are still being worked out most importantly we want to be able to get stats for all web pages within each department.
