Purpose
This procedure describes the steps for maintaining attendance records and defines the personnel
accountable for doing so in Workforce Education Post-Secondary Adult Vocational (PSAV) clock hour
programs. The recording and reporting of student attendance in PSAV programs will adhere to Federal
and State of Florida financial aid rules and regulations. This requirement is in addition to any other
attendance requirements that may be imposed on PSAV programming by a State or Federal entity that
regulates PSAV programming.
Procedure
A. Faculty/instructor is required to record student class attendance data or verify authenticity of student
reported class sign-in/sign-out data for all assigned PSAV clock hour courses using an approved
tracking system. The data collected will include student absence or presence for each official class
meeting and the number of hours for each class session the student attended.
B. If a student’s attendance pattern triggers an attendance related grade, the faculty member/instructor
will enter the appropriate grade (FN or course failure due to student non-attendance) in the online
grading system as soon as possible.
C. Program Managers are required to review the attendance data to ensure that the attendance policy is
being followed and appropriate records are being maintained and reported. Any discrepancies will be
discussed with the faculty member/instructor prior to making changes.
D. Program Managers are required to forward PSAV clock hour attendance data to the Director of
Financial Aid on a weekly basis.
