Manga and other graphic novels count for half pages since they are mostly pictures. You can read one 250 page book or three 100 page books or any combination. Every 50 pages over 250 will earn you one extra point. Required: Complete three squares in a row- horizontal, vertical, or diagonal. You will turn this paper back in with all of your projects, SO DON’T LOSE IT! The grading rubric is on the back. It has to be able to actually be played in class. Must include: plot, character, setting, point of view, types of conflict, problem, solution, protagonist, antagonist, and theme. Compose 20 two column journal entries from your novel. Make sure to write 3-5 sentences per entry minimum and include an accurate citation of the novel. Create a playlist of songs that could be the soundtrack to your novel. Must have at least 10 songs, including title and artist. You must also explain in 2-3 sentences per song which part of the book the song would be played in and why. Book Talk Interview Scrapbook Give a book talk for the class, explaining author, characters, or the beginning plot. The writing about these elements should total at least three paragraphs. Finally, read an exciting, interesting passage from your book. Stop reading to leave the audience hanging and add "If you want to know more you'll have to read the book." Write a one page scene (at least) where a character from your book is interviewed. Use dialogue with thoughtful questioning so the character has the opportunity to discuss his/her thoughts and feelings about his/her role in the story and write responses that character would realistically give. Make a scrapbook that displays all the major literary elements of your novel. Must include definitions and examples of plot, character, setting, point of view, types of conflict, problem, solution, protagonist, antagonist, and theme.
