Book Talks Over the course of this quarter, you will be required to give at least 3 informal book talks. These book talks must be completed by March 4, 2016. You must complete at least one book talk each 3 weeks. Your classmates and I are interested in what you have to say about these books, so make sure that you present clearly and concisely. Each book talk will be worth 50 points. You must complete one Book Talk by Jan. 22, one by Feb. 12, and the final by Mar. 4. You will be required to read at least 3 books and give an overview of them. You will be allowed to use books which you used for your 750 page reading assignment. You will not be allowed to conduct book talks over books that other students have already completed book talks over. (To avoid this, a sign-up sheet will be available on a first come, first serve basis.) You will be allowed to conduct book talks over books that are part of a series, but you must be very careful not to include spoilers from previous books in the series. You will have points deducted if this occurs. For your book talks, the following traits of the book must be addressed: Title , Author, Genre, Setting (time period and place) Brief description of main characters Brief description of main conflict Your reaction to the book (This does not have to be positive. Be honest.)
