President Ana Safazada called the meeting to order at 12:00pm and welcomed everyone. Quorum was established.

Fundraisers have been canceled because the club will be helping out the New Zealand

Red Cross in collecting donations for the people affected [by the earthquake disaster] on the island of Samoa.

The club will be collecting financial donations on the Library Lawn tomorrow thru next week and wearing white ribbons in solidarity for Samoans and Tongans.

I.C.C. Cabinet Vacancies - Ana Safazada (I.C.C. President)

1.

Five positions open: Commissioner of Activities, Commissioner of Finance,

Commissioner of Publicity, Historian and Secretary

I.C.C. Mixer - Chris Pham (I.C.C. Vice President)

1.

Mixer was last Friday, Sept. 25 th - goals were accomplished, clubs worked together, 50 people attended from 20 clubs. Member comments: good turnout, events were fun, next time have the same kool-aid, cool meeting people, positive event. Clubs were thanked for participating and everyone applauded Ana Safazada and Chris Pham for planning the event.

New/Reactivated Clubs - Kirstin Nguyen (I.C.C. Review Board Commissioner)

1.

Notice of reactivated club: Puente Club filed appropriate paperwork and club rep Cathy

Moreno Lopez briefly described the club’s purpose and goals.

2.

New clubs pending: a) Scene One – almost ready to be approved – petition approved – constitution pending final review b) El Camino Theater Group – will re-write their constitution, no petition yet c) Jewish Student Union and Italian Club – no paperwork yet

A.S.O. Senate – Philip Stokes (I.C.C. Senate Rep)

Policy Committee was formed

ECC Police Chief Trevis attended the Senate meeting to talk about the “Campus Watch” program to spread awareness by students of surroundings.

Fundraisers – Preena Chand (I.C.C. Fundraising Commissioner)

1.

Restaurant Night - suggestions: Fridays, Olive Garden, Red Robin - members thought Red

Robin would be best choice.

2.

Other suggestion for fundraiser - Mulligan’s (miniature golf, etc.)

A.

Approval of Finance Committee Recommendations

1.

2009 I.C.C. Homecoming Expenses - a copy of the “Proposed 2009 I.C.C. Homecoming

Expenses” was distributed and Chris Pham reviewed the line items.

Motion made by College Republicans to approve $1200 from the I.C.C. Major Fall

Activity Account #836505 for the 2009 I.C.C. homecoming expenses as presented.

Second by the Psychology Club. Motion passed.

2.

I.C.C. Office Supplies

Motion made by Gay-Straight Alliance to approve up to $600 from I.C.C. Supplies

Account #836501 for I.C.C. office supplies. Second by the Science Club. Motion passed.

VII.

Information Items

A.

Bloodmobile - Brandon Davis and Kirstin Nguyen

1.

Club were encouraged to get donors/volunteers to sign the pledge sheets

2.

All donors are encouraged to schedule an appointment to donate blood at www.givelife.org and use the SPONSOR CODE: ECC.

3.

Online appointments will be given first priority at the Bloodmobile.

4.

Following are numbers of appointments made so far from the Red Cross website:

Tuesday, October 13 from 9am-3pm - appt slots: 152, appts: 13, goal: 90

Wednesday, October 14 from 9am-8pm - slots: 296, appts: 15, goal:180

Thursday, October 15 from 9am-3pm - slots: 152, appts: 1, goal: 90

I.C.C. will sign-up donors on the Library Lawn next week. Cabinet members will have a computer set up to make appointments. Club members who volunteer at that time will be earn 1 point per hour for their club. Hours: 8am-12noon on Mon.-Thurs. Give your availability to Ana.

Pep Rally – Tuesday, November 3, 2009, 1-2pm on AC Stage featuring Pep Squad, football team and Homecoming candidates

Homecoming Queen and King Election

Tues, Nov. 3rd & Wed., Nov. 4th from 10am-2pm & 4-6pm

Candidates must be sponsored by clubs. Each organization may only sponsor one

Queen candidate and one King candidate.

Halftime Activities at ECC football game vs. Citrus College –

Classic Car Parade

Crowning of ECC Homecoming Queen and King may take place at the halftime or at the after-game meet and greet

7.

ICC Homecoming After-Game Meet and Greet - no outsiders - exclusively for clubs.

Next I.C.C. Meetings

Cabinet and Finance Committee Meeting – Monday, Oct. 5, 2009 at 11:45am in the I.C.C.

Office. Club budget requests for approval at the Oct. 7 th I.C.C. meeting are due on Friday, Oct.

2 nd (see ICC Club Budget Request Procedures).

General Meeting – Wednesday, October 7, 2009 at 12pm in Activities Center West Conference

Open Discussion

A.

I.C.C. Senate Rep - Philip Stokes – suggested inviting Campus Police Chief Trevis to attend an

I.C.C. meeting to discuss “Campus Watch” awareness. Information fliers regarding campus safety are available at the Campus Police tent in the Act. Center Patio.

X.
