Title: Subtraction Blast
Purpose: Numbers-and-operations (Subtraction)

GRADE 4:
(4) Number and operations. The student applies mathematical process standards to
develop and use strategies and methods for whole number computations and decimal sums
and differences in order to solve problems with efficiency and accuracy. The student is
expected to:
(A) add and subtract whole numbers and decimals to the hundredths place using the
standard algorithm;
Length of time necessary for game or activity: 2-5 minutes depending on skill level.
Number of Participants: Minimum of 1 student and maximum of 1 student

Procedure:

Place fingers on number “2” and “3” on keyboard.

Use the mouse to aim at the target.

When you fire “2” or “3” at the target, those values are subtracted off.

The goal is to get the target to zero.

If the target does not get to zero, blocks will build up under your shooter.

Do not let the shooter reach the top.
