Lab Test 4 Study Sheet

Respiratory, Urinary, and Digestive System

For all Labs:

1. Be able to match the name of each test or activity to the equipment used and the type of information that could be obtained from it (as you have written in purpose statement or based on data).

2. Describe the procedures for each test or activity, what results were obtained, and the concept each presented.

3. Complete the review worksheets and know the definition to words in bold found in text throughout lab and vocabulary in lab worksheets.

Respiratory System: Lab 37A and Physio Ex 37B and 47B

1. Describe the changes in lung volume, be able to read a graph and analyze data, know formulas for lung volumes

2.. Describe the relationship between various breathing rates and acid balance

Urinary System: Lab 41A and Physio EX 41B and 47B

1.. Know the normal and abnormal components of urine, be able to analyze results and determine what type of illness is presented by lab results. Differentiate between the organic and inorganic substances normally and not normally found in urine.

2. Know how aldosterone and vasopressin influence urine production and what condition would increase or decrease their release.

3. Know how the urinary system compensates for changes in blood chemistry and volume

Digestive System: Lab 39A

1. Be able to match each enzyme to what it digest, identify negative and positive controls, and review the use of indicators. Be able to analyze a result chart.

Genetics Lab be able to set up and complete a punnett square, then calculate genotype and phenotype ratios. Be able to describe the lab you did and understand the procedure. Know the definition to key genetic terms such as allele, homologous chromosome, complete dominance, etc.
