Sincerely, Megan McCurdy Classroom Goal My goal for our class is for the students to reach their full potential by reading and writing fluently. I will focus on meeting the student’s individual needs as well as meeting state PASS objectives. These objectives can be found on the Oklahoma State Department of Education website. Classroom Expectations Be Respectful: Listen to others, raise your hand, and be polite. Be Responsible: Follow directions, turn in ALL assignments, clean up your area, and be honest. Be cooperative: sit in your seat appropriately, use materials properly, and do your job! Stay positive! Use kind words, be helpful to others, give encouragement, and include everyone! Classroom Schedule Each day the student will begin bell work upon entering the classroom and complete the objective and assignments for that day. Homework Homework will only be given if the student does not complete the assignment in the allotted time. If the assignment is taken home, then it must be turned in the following day. Cheating/Plagiarism If a student is caught cheating or plagiarizing then he/she will be assigned a zero for that assignment. There will not be an opportunity to replace the grade. Extra Credit Extra credit opportunities will be given throughout the semester. The students will be informed of these opportunities in class. Late Work Students will have plenty of time to turn in assignments on time. If they choose to turn in an assignment passed its due date then they will receive 10 points deducted from their grade. Textbooks Textbooks will be provided in class and may be checked out as needed. Grading Scale 90-100% = A 80-89% = B 70-79% = C 60-69% = D Below 60% = F Grading Procedure Daily Work: 60% Tests/Quizzes: 30% Bell work: 10% Student Agendas should be used in class daily. There will be an agenda check every Friday on the day we have VIP. Assignments that receive below a 70% can be redone for a higher grade. The assignment must be redone by an assigned due date and it is a choice. If the assignment is redone and turned in by the assigned due date then the student will receive the earned grade. The student must come into lunch or take the assignment home and turn it in the following day to receive the earned grade. Students are always welcome to come to my room before and after school for additional help with teacher’s permission. Discipline Management Any behavior, which jeopardizes a student’s education or the education of others, will be handled accordingly. The primary objective is to ensure that all factors are conducive to learning. ___________________ Student Signature ________________ Date _______________________________________ Parent Signature Date
