Agriculture & Natural Resources 4-H Youth Development Family & Consumer Sciences Connect With Us: Upcoming Events Jul 11 Will, Estate planning, and Long Term Care (73.0 miles) 7:00 PM | Thomaston, GA We will be holding a meeting on July 11th at 7pm covering Will, Estate planning, and Long Term Care. It will be a very informative meeting. I have a local lawyer to discuss wills and estate planning. I have asked that they talk generalities. I want you to get information to take to your lawyer. There will also be a long term care specialist coming from Athens to speak. Both will be very informative. Upson Farm Bureau agents are sponsoring this meeting. Call the Upson County Extension office by Friday, July 8th if you plan to attend. Jul 20 Composting - Free Monthly Gardening Class Series (87.0 miles) 6:00 PM | Athens, GA This free, 90-minute class will review the ins and outs of composting. Topics will include how compost works, composting methods suited for the backyard and the apartment, uses of compost, and troubleshooting problems. Beginner and experienced composters are welcome! Aug 1-Aug 2 ServSafe Restaurant Manager Food Safety Certification (33.0 miles) 8:30 AM | Albany, GA You can improve your food safety and sanitation skills through a nationally recognized food safety sanitation course. The class is 16 hours by a Certified ServSafe Trainer of UGA Family and Consumer Sciences, Suzanne Williams. This course meets the new GA Food Code requirements and is certified through the National Restaurant Association and includes the course book, supplies, educational materials, exam, instruction, and refreshments. Successful completion of the exam provides certification. The class fee of $140.00 includes course book, supplies, educational materials, exam, instructions, and refreshments. Lunch is on your own.
