Performance criteria 1.1 Liquor and chemical handling, storage, discharge, and disposal procedures are described in terms of workplace requirements and local authority regulations. 1.2 Chemicals are identified and confirmed with workplace procedure. 1.3 Chemicals are prepared in accordance with workplace procedures. 1.4 Chemicals batches prepared for stock are tested in accordance with workplace procedures to confirm that batch meets specifications. Element 2 Set up Twistset for processing. Performance criteria 2.1 Twistset machine is prepared for operation in accordance with workplace procedures. Range yarn identified, creel loaded, tension devices, break detectors, yarn thread up, freize unit, coiler speed, belt speed, bowl conditions, squeeze press operation, dryer conditions, accumulator settings, winder speed, cone length, cone magazines, initial chemical charges, chemical addition controls, liquor flows. Element 3 Monitor yarn during Twistset processing. Performance criteria 3.1 Process conditions are monitored and maintained during processing in accordance with workplace procedures. 3.2 Samples are taken and tests carried in accordance with workplace procedures. 3.3 Test results are assessed and machine and chemical adjustments made to achieve product quality in accordance with workplace procedures. Please note Providers must be accredited by NZQA, or an inter-institutional body with delegated authority for quality assurance, before they can report credits from assessment against unit standards or deliver courses of study leading to that assessment. Accredited providers and Industry Training Organisations assessing against unit standards must engage with the moderation system that applies to those standards.
