Performance criteria 1.1 Liquor and chemical handling, storage, discharge, and disposal procedures are described in terms of workplace procedures and local authority regulations. 1.2 Chemicals are identified and confirmed with work instructions. 1.3 Chemicals are prepared in accordance with workplace procedures. 1.4 Chemicals batches prepared for stock are tested in accordance with workplace procedures to confirm that batch meets specifications. Element 2 Comply with company and statutory health, safety, and environment requirements. Performance criteria 2.1 Company-supplied clothing, and hygiene and safety equipment and materials, are worn and used in accordance with company and statutory requirements. 2.2 Work methods comply with company and statutory requirements to minimise the risk of ill-health and injuries to the candidate and others. 2.3 Unsafe and unhealthy conditions are identified and reported in accordance with company and statutory requirements. 2.4 Waste is disposed of in accordance with workplace procedures. Element 3 Set up tapescour for processing. Performance criteria 3.1 Tapescour is prepared for operation in accordance with workplace procedures. Range yarn identified, tape speed, bowl conditions, squeeze press operation, dryer conditions, initial chemical charges, chemical addition controls, liquor flows. Performance criteria 4.1 Process conditions are monitored and maintained during processing in accordance with workplace procedures. 4.2 Samples are taken and tests carried out in accordance with workplace procedures. 4.3 Test results are assessed, and machine and chemical adjustments made to achieve product quality in accordance with workplace procedures. Please note Providers must be accredited by NZQA, or an inter-institutional body with delegated authority for quality assurance, before they can report credits from assessment against unit standards or deliver courses of study leading to that assessment. Industry Training Organisations must be accredited by NZQA before they can register credits from assessment against unit standards. Accredited providers and Industry Training Organisations assessing against unit standards must engage with the moderation system that applies to those standards.
