People assessed as competent in this unit standard are able to identify review points and constraints to work instructions, create instructions, and maintain published work instructions. Range 1.2 Constraints to the completion of work instructions are identified, and contingencies are developed to optimise performance of work instructions. Range 1.3 authorised personnel – management, supervisors, technical specialists; process qualification – test for critical processes, checklists for specialised processes where results cannot be verified, standards times, work performance verification, (eg photos, compliance with industry standards, computer verification). Users understand work instructions or procedures and agree that these are accurate, comprehensive, and provide efficient job process and routing. Range 1.6 jigs, fixtures, tools, processing materials (eg cleaning fluid), machine settings. Draft work instructions and procedures are agreed to be technically accurate by authorised personnel and include process qualifications and quality control procedures. Range 1.5 workplace hazards, safety requirements, disposal of waste products, optimum sequence and necessary precedence of procedures. Tool and processing requirements are identified and comply with design specifications. Range 1.4 design specifications, users, scope, sign off points, designated review personnel, target dates. allocation and sequence of tasks to workstations. Work instructions and procedures are published and comply with document control format and procedures. Range identifier, issue number, destroy-by date, review points. Performance criteria 2.1 Work instructions or procedures are documented and are legible, accurate, complete, and protected from accidental damage. 2.2 Specified numbers of registered copies of work instructions or procedures are available at agreed locations in the workplace. Range 2.3 Alterations to work instructions are recorded and comply with organisational procedures for change requests and traceable records. Range 2.4 workstations, office. procedures – investigation process, timeframes for action, feedback to instruction writer and to initiator of change request, signoff by accountable manager, documentation; traceable records – archived proof copies, change request documentation, registered users, record of updates. Registered copies of work instructions are current and comply with organisational document control procedures. Range updates notified, registered copies returned to a document control point, copies updated, recorded and reissued. Please note Providers must be accredited by NZQA, or an inter-institutional body with delegated authority for quality assurance, before they can report credits from assessment against unit standards or deliver courses of study leading to that assessment. Industry Training Organisations must be accredited by NZQA before they can register credits from assessment against unit standards. Accredited providers and Industry Training Organisations assessing against unit standards must engage with the moderation system that applies to those standards. Accreditation requirements and an outline of the moderation system that applies to this standard are outlined in the Accreditation and Moderation Action Plan (AMAP). The AMAP also includes useful information about special requirements for organisations wishing to develop education and training programmes, such as minimum qualifications for tutors and assessors, and special resource requirements.
