Purpose
This unit standard is for people working in the irrigation
industry, and recognises the knowledge and skills required to
develop a maintenance manual and manage the operation of
an irrigation system.

Develops a routine maintenance schedule for the operation of an irrigation
system in accordance with the Irrigation New Zealand Operation and
Maintenance Manual.
Outcome 2
Manage the operation and maintenance of an irrigation system
Evidence requirements
2.1
Ensures pre-season checks and system calibration are carried out and
recorded in accordance with the New Zealand Piped Irrigation System
Performance Assessment Code of Practice.
2.2
Ensures operational tasks and maintenance on the irrigation system are carried
out and recorded in accordance with workplace procedures and in accordance
with the Irrigation New Zealand Operation and Maintenance Manual.
2.3
Records and reports irrigation activities to meet compliance and other
requirements.
Range
irrigation activities include - irrigation events, maintenance activities,
and incident reports.
