Outcome 2 Demonstrate understanding of soil, crop and climate characteristics and how they impact with each other on an irrigation site. Evidence requirements 2.1 Describe soil characteristics and profile soil types on an irrigation site in accordance with the Irrigation Essentials Resource Book. 2.2 Describe the implications of climate and weather features on an irrigation site in accordance with the Irrigation Essentials Resource Book. 2.3 Describe the implications of crop features on an irrigation system in accordance with the Irrigation Essentials Resource Book. 2.4 Describe how the characteristics of soil crop and climate impact on one another in accordance with the Irrigation Essentials Resource Book. Outcome 3 Prepare a design brief for an irrigation system. Evidence requirements 3.1 Collects the site specific information and identify implications and limitations for an irrigation system in accordance with the Irrigation ‘Design Brief’ Checklist. 3.2 Calculates KPI’s for the design brief for an irrigation system in accordance with the Irrigation ‘Design Brief’ Checklist. 3.3 Compiles a design brief that will determine irrigation system requirements consistent with the Irrigation “Design Brief” Checklist.
