moulding processes.

Definitions
Enterprise means an organisation where training and/or assessment is taking place,
and/or where the trainee is employed.

Enterprise procedure is defined as actions which comply with the policies, systems,
and directives in a particular enterprise. Enterprise procedure must comply with the
requirements of the Health and Safety in Employment Act 1992, and subsequent
amendments.
Elements and performance criteria
Element 1
Remove, fit, and set a preform injection mould.
Range

Performance criteria
1.1
The moulding machine is prepared for a mould change in accordance with
enterprise procedure.
1.2
Moulds are prepared for removal and fitting in accordance with enterprise
procedure.
1.3
Mould changes are carried out in accordance with enterprise procedure.
1.4
Machine is set to job specification.
Element 2
Remove, fit, and set blow moulds for a container.
Range
remove, fit, and set may include – blow timing devices, preform infeed parts,
container outfeed parts.
Performance criteria
2.1
The machine is prepared for a mould change in accordance with enterprise
procedure.
2.2
Moulds are prepared for removal and fitting in accordance with enterprise
procedure.
2.3
Mould changes are carried out in accordance with enterprise procedure.
2.4
Machine is set to job specification.

Providers must be accredited by the Qualifications Authority, or an inter-institutional body
with delegated authority for quality assurance, before they can report credits from
assessment against unit standards or deliver courses of study leading to that assessment.

Industry Training Organisations must be accredited by the Qualifications Authority before
they can register credits from assessment against unit standards.
Accredited providers and Industry Training Organisations assessing against unit standards
