Endorsement of village variations may be conducted by pulotu. 2 Definitions Fakaholoaga refers to the process by which something is learnt or knowledge is transmitted; Maaga is any one of the 14 villages that the learner identifies with through either matrilineal or patrilineal lines, or self-identifies through acceptable fakaholoaga; Magafaoa refers to the immediate and extended family; Magafaoa laulahi refers to the extended family only; Pulotu refers to Niue village or community recognised and/or appointed experts. Outcomes and evidence requirements Outcome 1 Investigate the role of magafaoa and/or magafaoa laulahi in Niue decision-making. Evidence requirements 1.1 Gathering process includes preparation of at least 10 interview questions on the role of magafaoa and/or magafaoa laulahi in Niue decision-making. 1.2 Gathering process includes the interviewing of at least one village person who has well-informed first-hand experience of magafaoa and/or magafaoa laulahi in Niue decision-making.
