Elements and performance criteria
Element 1
Organise the transportation of livestock.
Performance criteria
1.1
Agreement is reached with vendor and buyer on their responsibilities and the
transport operator’s responsibilities in accordance with organisational
procedures.
1.2
Transport rates are negotiated with the buyer and vendor in accordance with
organisational procedures.
1.3
Transport details are arranged in accordance with the vendor’s and buyer’s
requirements.
Range
1.4
time, date, special delivery instructions.
Transport is organised to minimise stress to animals in accordance with Code of
Recommendations and Minimum Standards for the Welfare of Animals
Transported within New Zealand.
Element 2
Complete documentation for the transport of livestock.
Performance criteria
2.1
Vendor tuberculosis (TB) status card requirements are met.
2.2
Check of delivery docket ensures it is signed by buyer or authorised agent in
accordance with organisational procedures.
2.3
Check of consignment note ensures it is signed by company representative in
accordance with organisational procedures.
2.4
Insurance forms, if required, are finalised in accordance with organisational
procedures.
2.5
Animal health declaration forms are completed in accordance with
organisational procedures.
Please note
Providers must be accredited by the Qualifications Authority, or an inter-institutional body
with delegated authority for quality assurance, before they can report credits from
assessment against unit standards or deliver courses of study leading to that assessment.
Industry Training Organisations must be accredited by the Qualifications Authority before
they can register credits from assessment against unit standards.

Accredited providers and Industry Training Organisations assessing against unit standards
must engage with the moderation system that applies to those standards.
Accreditation requirements and an outline of the moderation system that applies to this
standard are outlined in the Accreditation and Moderation Action Plan (AMAP). The
AMAP also includes useful information about special requirements for organisations
wishing to develop education and training programmes, such as minimum qualifications for
tutors and assessors, and special resource requirements.
