Performance criteria 1.1 Sampling sites and times are selected in accordance with organisational procedures. Range 1.2 Sample collection procedures are carried out in accordance with organisational procedures. Range 1.3 includes but is not limited to – correct containers, sterility, flush volumes, representative samples, sample contamination, preservation of sample integrity. Samples are labelled in accordance with organisational procedures. Range 1.4 sampling frequency, grab samples, containers, multiple sites. includes but is not limited to – date, time, location, source, purpose, sampler. Samples are handled and transported in accordance with organisational procedures. Range may include but is not limited to – sample packing, temperature control, sunlight effects, timeliness. Element 2 Carry out site analyses of water in a water treatment plant. Performance criteria 2.1 Testing equipment is calibrated, if required, and site tests are carried out in accordance with organisational procedures. Range 2.2 Results of site testing are recorded in accordance with organisational procedures. Range 2.3 chlorine residual, plus any two of – turbidity, temperature, colilert, jar test, conductivity, pH, alkalinity, hardness. at least one of – plant log, computer-based data systems. Sample results that are outside operating guidelines result in appropriate action in accordance with organisational procedures. Range plant adjustments, notification to others. Industry Training Organisations must be accredited by NZQA before they can register credits from assessment against unit standards. Accredited providers and Industry Training Organisations assessing against unit standards must engage with the moderation system that applies to those standards.
