People credited with this unit standard are able to demonstrate knowledge of hairdressing history, and the influence of historical hair design and techniques on current and emerging hair fashion. Evidence requirements 1.1 European hairstyles from a pre-21st century time period are described and illustrated in terms of their styling and care. Range 1.2 styling may include construction. Traditional hairstyles of selected cultural groups are described. Range Māori; and any other two broad cultural groups. Outcome 2 Demonstrate knowledge of the influence of historical hair design and techniques on current and emerging hair fashion.
