and preheating equipment; set up machine for moulding and
maintain moulds; prepare rubber blanks and load into
vulcanising machine moulds; and perform start up and close
down procedures on a rubber vulcanising machine and
ensure a safe workplace.

Company safety requirements must conform to the
Health and Safety in Employment Act 1992 and the

the Resource Management Act 1991, and be in
accordance with Local Authority requirements.

It is recommended that this unit standard be
undertaken in conjunction with Unit 8117, Direct mould
soles to footwear uppers.

and manufacturer's specification.
5.2
Rubber vulcanising machine is closed down in accordance with company
practice and manufacturer's specification.

Area in vicinity of machine is cleared and cleaned to ensure safe working
conditions.
5.4
Work practices meet company safety requirements.
5.5
Waste material is disposed of in accordance with company waste disposal
practice.
