Outcomes and evidence requirements Outcome 1 Determine client requirements and end use specifications for an apparel or textile product. Evidence requirements 1.1 Client requirements and end use specifications are determined in relation to the product to be developed. 1.2 Product characteristics are established in accordance with end use specifications. Range 1.3 Company capability to produce product to end use specification is established. Range 1.4 may include but are not limited to – appearance, function, quantity to be produced, aesthetics. may include but is not limited to – machinery and processes needed, raw material availability, health and safety constraints. Development completion date is established and confirmed with client in accordance with company procedures. Evidence requirements 2.1 Product concept is developed in accordance with client requirements and company procedures. Range 2.2 Preliminary product specification is set for sample production in accordance with company procedures. Range 2.3 may include but is not limited to – concept drawings, computer generated images, colour swatches, hand or laboratory samples. materials, machine and process settings, adjustments (where required), finishing processes. Preliminary product cost is prepared in accordance with company procedures. Outcome 3 Conduct sampling to establish the product specification of an apparel or textile product. Evidence requirements 3.1 Product is scheduled for sample manufacture in accordance with completion time, end user requirements, and company procedures. 3.2 Materials required for sample manufacture are requisitioned to manufacturing in accordance with company procedures. 3.3 Sample produced meets preliminary product specification. 3.4 Documentation records sample production and sample performance in accordance with company procedures. 3.5 Preliminary product specification is modified and re-sampled to achieve final product specification. 3.6 Final product specification is established and documented in accordance with company procedures. 3.7 Client confirmation of the final product specification is obtained in accordance with company procedures. Outcome 4 Produce a manufacturing specification for an apparel or textile product.
