People credited with this unit standard are able to: determine
client requirements and end use specifications; produce the
preliminary product specification; conduct sampling to establish
product specification; and produce a manufacturing
specification, for an apparel or textile product.

Produce the preliminary product specification for an apparel or textile product.
Evidence requirements
2.1
Product concept is developed in accordance with client requirements and
company procedures.

Preliminary product specification is set for sample production in accordance
with company procedures.

generated images, colour swatches, hand or laboratory samples.

Preliminary product cost is prepared in accordance with company procedures.
Outcome 3
Conduct sampling to establish the product specification of an apparel or textile product.
Evidence requirements
3.1
Product is scheduled for sample manufacture in accordance with completion
time, end user requirements, and company procedures.
3.2
Materials required for sample manufacture are requisitioned to manufacturing in
accordance with company procedures.
3.3
Sample produced meets preliminary product specification.
3.4
Documentation records sample production and sample performance in
accordance with company procedures.
3.5
Preliminary product specification is modified and re-sampled to achieve final
product specification.
3.6
Final product specification is established and documented in accordance with
company procedures.
3.7
Client confirmation of the final product specification is obtained in accordance
with company procedures.
Outcome 4
Produce a manufacturing specification for an apparel or textile product.
