Purpose
This unit standard is for people who work in the industrial textile
fabrication industry. People credited with this unit standard are
able to: determine drawing requirements for products in the
industrial textile fabrication industry; perform calculations to
produce drawings; and produce product drawings under
supervision.

Safety in Employment Act 1992.

Definition
Company requirements refer to instructions to staff on policy and procedures which
are documented in memo or manual format and are available in the workplace.
These requirements include but are not limited to – company specifications and
procedures, work instructions, manufacturer specifications, product quality
specifications, and legislative requirements.

Drawing requirements are identified in accordance with customer and company
requirements.

2.1
Calculations are undertaken to obtain construction measurements and are as
per job specifications.

theorem, triangular calculations using trigonometric functions.
Dimensions to meet job specifications are selected in accordance with company
requirements.

Evidence requirements
3.1
Tools and materials that enable the drawing to be carried out are selected and
used in accordance with company requirements.
3.2
Products and assemblies are drawn to job specifications.
3.3
Drawing is dimensioned and labelled to job specifications.
3.4
Drawings are produced to documented job specifications appropriate to
worksite.
3.5
Drawings meet product specifications and supervisor’s approval.
3.6
Safe working practices are carried out throughout the task in accordance with
legislative requirements.
