Prerequisite: Unit 4408, Dive in open water using SCUBA to
30 metres, or demonstrate equivalent knowledge and skills.
accreditation option:
Evaluation of documentation and visit by NZQA and industry.
moderation option:
A centrally established and directed national moderation
system has been set up by the Dive Industry Training
Organisation.

All workplace diving practice must comply with the
requirements of the Health and Safety in Employment
Act, 1992 (HSE) and subsequent regulations relating to
Occupational Diving. All practice must also comply
with Accident Rehabilitation and Compensation
Insurance Act, 1992 (ARCI) and Occupational Safety
and Health (OSH) guidelines.
