Explanatory notes 1 Solo performance work may be a dance work choreographed by self or other. 2 Assessment of this unit standard must include both developmental process and the performance product. 3 Respect for ownership of original ideas and cultural sensitivity underpin the learning and teaching involved in this unit standard. 4 Solo performance should be 2-3 minutes in length, and performed in front of an audience which may include in-class performance. 5 Dance production in this unit standard refers to production in front of an audience for more than one performance. Technical and/or dress rehearsal may be counted as a performance. 6 Requirements for this unit standard may be met in one production or in an accumulation of productions. 7 Performance etiquette refers to the behavioural standards set for the production e.g. backstage protocols. Outcome 2 Explore solo dance presentation. Evidence requirements 2.1 Exploration includes effort to achieve choreographic plan as a solo performer. Range 2.2 Exploration includes evidence of the skill of establishing stage presence. Range 2.3 space, movement vocabulary and patterns, timing, dynamics. may include but is not limited to – breath, eye contact, audience rapport, performance energy, performer confidence. Exploration includes evidence of the skills involved in communicating choreographic intentions. Outcome 3 Perform and reflect on solo dance. Evidence requirements 3.1 Performance shows evidence of refinement as a result of rehearsal process. 3.2 Performance gives evidence of communication of the choreographic intention of the work. 3.3 Performance displays evidence of stage presence.
