choreographic intention of solo work; explore solo dance
presentation; and perform and reflect on solo dance.

Explanatory notes
1
Solo performance work may be a dance work choreographed by self or other.

Assessment of this unit standard must include both developmental process and the
performance product.

Respect for ownership of original ideas and cultural sensitivity underpin the learning
and teaching involved in this unit standard.

Solo performance should be 2-3 minutes in length, and performed in front of an
audience which may include in-class performance.

Dance production in this unit standard refers to production in front of an audience for
more than one performance. Technical and/or dress rehearsal may be counted as a
performance.
6
Requirements for this unit standard may be met in one production or in an
accumulation of productions.
7
Performance etiquette refers to the behavioural standards set for the production e.g. backstage protocols.
