Explanatory notes
1
Dance production in this unit standard refers to production in front of an audience for
more than one performance. Technical and/or dress rehearsal may be counted as a
performance.
Requirements for this unit standard may be met in one production or in an
accumulation of productions.

Glossary of terms in this unit standard:
respect refers to the ability to show due consideration and care for other people,
properties and costumes involved in the rehearsal and production situation.

Group performance or solo work may be used as assessment event(s), but
assessment must ultimately be based on individual contribution in dance production.

Assessment of this unit standard must include both developmental process and the
performance product.
5
Respect for ownership of original ideas and cultural sensitivity underpin the learning
and teaching involved in this unit standard.
6
Performance etiquette refers to the behavioural standards set for the production e.g. backstage protocols.
