Process work is here defined as the used of a dot-on-dot screen process using any three colour or four colour combination of the three primary colours and black in a single printing pass to produce colour shades to specification by a mingling of the colours used. 6 Board warped in excess of 2% is not to be used during assessment. The process for defining and calculating warp percentage is as follows: when a warped board is laid on a level surface so as to form a shallow arch, the maximum vertical deviation from the horizontal is expressed as a percentage of the board dimension that forms the arch. 7 Assessments must be conducted where board sheet size is 20% above the machine’s specified minimum limit and 20% below the machine’s specified maximum limit. 8 Assessments in this unit standard must be carried out only for repeat production tasks, and not for new production tasks. Outcomes and evidence requirements Outcome 1 Carry out all pre-production checks and preset the machine. Evidence requirements 1.1 All preparatory checks are made in accordance with workplace practices. Range checks may include but are not limited to – checks of production order documentation, ink specifications, board calliper, machine specifications and operating instructions. 1.2 All presetting of the machine is made in accordance with workplace practices and production order requirements. 1.3 Any problems occurring during the production run are rectified or reported in accordance with workplace practices.
