Those credited with this unit standard are able to: demonstrate knowledge of a hydraulic body jack and attachments; use a hydraulic body jack and attachments; and maintain a hydraulic body jack and attachments. Range pump and ram, chains, attachments. 1.3 When repairing vehicles, the importance of size of jack and matching attachments is identified according to company guidelines and manufacturer's specifications. 1.4 Chains used with a body jack are identified according to manufacturer's specifications. Range single hook, double hook, chain sizes. Outcome 2 Use a hydraulic body jack and attachments. Evidence requirements 2.1 Attachments are fitted to the jack according to company guidelines and manufacturer's specifications. Range extensions, ends, chains, clamps. 2.2 Parts that interfere when using the jack are removed without damage according to company guidelines. 2.3 Positions and angles where jack is to be positioned are identified according to vehicle manufacturer's specifications and company guidelines. 2.4 Body jack and attachments are used according to company guidelines, there is no additional body damage, and body dimensions are according to vehicle manufacturer's specifications. 2.5 Body jack and attachments are clean and put away in their place and the work area is clean. 2.6 Safe working practices are carried out throughout the task. Range bleed air from system, hydraulic fluid. 3.3 Chains are maintained and stored according to manufacturers specifications. 3.4 Safe working practices are carried out throughout the task.
