Company procedures means the documented methods for performing work activities
and include health and safety, environmental, and quality management requirements.
They may refer to manuals, codes of practice, or policy statements.
Elements and performance criteria
Element 1
Locate and identify procedures, documentation and equipment for using flow-stopping
bags.
Performance criteria
1.1
Company procedures for using flow-stopping bags are located and interpreted
in relation to specified job requirements.
1.2
Job instructions are confirmed in accordance with company procedures.
Range
instructions include – site location, utility plans and/or mark-outs,
consents, easements.
1.3
Potential environmental and safety hazards are identified in accordance with
company procedures.
1.4
Flow-stopping equipment and components are described in terms of types and
function.
Range
equipment – under pressure drilling and tapping machine, bag
tube set, vent pipes, flame traps, inflation pump, pressure gauges,
hand tools, breathing apparatus.
1.5
Equipment is described in terms of potential hazards of incorrect operation and
the steps to avoid them are described in accordance with company procedures.
1.6
Resource requirements are identified and sourced in accordance with company
procedures.

Safety and environmental hazards are identified, then isolated, removed, or
minimised, in accordance with company procedures.

Flow-stopping equipment and materials are prepared and installed in
accordance with company procedures and manufacturer’s instructions.

Worksite is reinstated and made safe in accordance with company procedures.

Complete reporting and documentation.
Performance criteria
4.1
Information is communicated to other parties, both internal and external, in
accordance with company procedures.

Providers must be accredited by NZQA, or an inter-institutional body with delegated
authority for quality assurance, before they can report credits from assessment against
unit standards or deliver courses of study leading to that assessment.
Industry Training Organisations must be accredited by NZQA before they can register
credits from assessment against unit standards.
Accredited providers and Industry Training Organisations assessing against unit standards
must engage with the moderation system that applies to those standards.
Accreditation requirements and an outline of the moderation system that applies to this
standard are outlined in the Accreditation and Moderation Action Plan (AMAP). The
