Strategic purpose statement
The purpose of this qualification is to provide New Zealand
business entities implementing a competitive systems and
practices strategy with people who have the skills and knowledge
to lead activities and facilitate the associated change in culture.
This qualification is designed for team leaders who will be taking
a lead role in the implementation of competitive systems and
practices within their organisation.
The term ‘competitive systems and practices’ describes a large
range of systems and practice concepts and approaches leading
to improved performance in organisations. It uses a systematic
approach to produce high quality goods and/or services, for the
least cost with the least waste, across multiple sectors.

This qualification builds on the New Zealand Certificate in
Competitive Systems and Practices (Level 3) [Ref: 2998].
It can lead to the New Zealand Diploma in Competitive Systems
and Practices (Level 5) [Ref: 3000].

Graduates will be equipped, within their existing role, to lead
activities and support the change in culture associated with
implementing competitive systems and practices strategies in an
organisation.

This qualification can be awarded by an organisation which has
an approved programme of study or industry training programme
leading to the qualification.

This qualification replaced the National Certificate in Competitive
Manufacturing (Level 4) with an optional strand in Facilitation
[Ref: 1216].
The last date for entry into the replaced qualification is 31 December 2017. The last date for assessment
against the replaced qualification is 31 December 2019.
