Assessment parameters will depend on company and site specific equipment, procedures, and practices. Practices must reflect industry best practice and comply with legislative requirements. 2 The tasks referred to in this unit standard are limited to the tasks required on a single project for which the candidate has direct supervisory responsibility. The wider range of supervision of several concurrent activities applies to Unit 6443, Supervise infrastructure works projects. 3 Definitions Company requirements include the policy, procedures, and methodologies of the company. They include legislative and regulatory requirements that may apply across the company or to a specific site. Requirements are documented in the company’s health and safety plans, traffic management plans, contract work programmes, quality assurance programmes, policies, and procedural documents. Responsibilities are tasks and expectations of performance; responsibilities can be delegated. Accountability is where the final responsibilities lie for performance and cannot be delegated. Hold point refers to the stage of work that requires testing, checking, or certification before work can proceed. This is to be recorded. Hold points not specified in contract documents may be stated or implied in company requirements. Evidence requirements 1.1 The levels of authority delegated to people on a works site are described in accordance with company requirements. 1.2 The responsibilities and accountability of a works site supervisor are described in accordance with company requirements. Range includes but is not limited to – task planning, task organisation, productivity, work performance, quality control, leadership, staff management, maintenance of standards, reporting, health, safety, environment. Outcome 2 Establish objectives and allocate tasks for an infrastructure works site. Evidence requirements 2.1 Works site objectives are established for work crews in accordance with company requirements. Range 2.2 Workflow is organised to minimise waste and delay. Range 2.3 evidence is required of scheduling work for three major cost items. Plant, labour, equipment, and consumable resources are determined for an infrastructure works site in accordance with company requirements. Range 2.4 productivity, site constraints, priority of tasks, monitoring of progress. plant and equipment includes but is not limited to – condition, certification, fitness for purpose, serviceability, cost. Tasks are allocated for an infrastructure works site to achieve flow of work in accordance with company requirements. Evidence requirements 3.1 Tasks are communicated in accordance with company requirements. Range 3.2 health, safety, productivity, targets, budgets, equipment, resources, team morale, tailgate meetings, advice and warning of project issues, waste control. Work crew’s productivity requirements are communicated in accordance with company requirements. Range site preparation, clear instructions, equal and fair treatment, training, equipment, workflow, encouragement for effort, leading by example, feedback. Outcome 4 Manage a work programme for an infrastructure works site. Evidence requirements 4.1 Productivity for plant, labour, and specialist services is monitored in accordance with company requirements. 4.2 Efficient use of material is measured in accordance with company requirements. 4.3 Work performance is monitored against work programmes in accordance with company requirements. 4.4 Work progress is reported in accordance with company requirements.
