site; collect and verify administrative records for an
infrastructure works site; and document variations for
infrastructure works.

1
Assessment against this unit standard must take place in a workplace environment.
Assessment parameters will depend on company and site specific equipment,
procedures, and practices. Practices must reflect industry best practice and comply
with legislative requirements. Assessment against Outcome 3 may be by simulation
if a variation does not occur during works.

Definition
Company requirements include the policy, procedures, and methodologies of the
company. They include legislative and regulatory requirements that may apply
across the company or to a specific site. Requirements are documented in the
company’s health and safety plans, traffic management plans, contract work
programmes, quality assurance programmes, policies, and procedural documents.

accordance with company requirements.

Other construction records to be maintained are confirmed with supervisor in
accordance with company requirements.

conditions, drawings, as-builts, plant hire, subcontracts, resource
utilisation, costs, quantities.
Method of recording variations is described in accordance with company
requirements.
Outcome 2
Collect and verify administrative records for an infrastructure works site.
Evidence requirements
2.1
Plant running sheets are collected and verified in accordance with company
requirements.
2.2
Personnel timesheets are collected, verified, and reported in accordance with
company requirements.
2.3
Progress is compared with contract work programme in accordance with
company requirements.
2.4
Daily job record is prepared and verified in accordance with company
requirements.

may include – weather, site conditions, staff numbers, timesheets,
discussions, disciplinary action, materials, hire plant, plant hours,
plant inspection, measurements, inspections, test records and
reports, variations, disputes, approvals, breakdowns, stoppages,
damages, ambiguities, health, safety and environment documents.

Document variations for infrastructure works.
Evidence requirements
3.1
Variations due to changes in site conditions or site instructions are documented
in accordance with company requirements.

Providers must be granted consent to assess against standards (accredited) by NZQA, or
an inter-institutional body with delegated authority for quality assurance, before they can
report credits from assessment against unit standards or deliver courses of study leading
to that assessment.
Industry Training Organisations must be granted consent to assess against standards by
NZQA before they can register credits from assessment against unit standards.
Providers and Industry Training Organisations, which have been granted consent and
which are assessing against unit standards must engage with the moderation system that
applies to those standards.
