Classification Infrastructure Works > Generic Infrastructure Works Available grade Achieved Explanatory notes 1 Assessment against this unit standard must take place in a workplace environment. Assessment parameters will be dependent on company and site specific equipment, procedures, and practices. Practices must reflect industry best practice and comply with legislative requirements. 2 Definitions Company requirements include the policy, procedures, and methodologies of the company. They include legislative and regulatory requirements which may apply across the company or to a specific site. Requirements are documented in the company’s health and safety plans, traffic management plans, contract work programmes, quality assurance programmes, policies, and procedural documents. Job instructions are those given to the operator prior to undertaking a job. They may include site safety instructions, contract drawings, and written memos. Pegs and stakes refer to markings for survey set-out, boundary, lift, and batter. Outcomes and evidence requirements Outcome 1 Interpret information on an infrastructure works site. Evidence requirements 1.1 Safety signage is identified and its meaning is interpreted in accordance with the site safety plan. Range includes but is not limited to – lifting, lowering, fast forward, slow forward, stop. Outcome 2 Provide information relating to tasks on an infrastructure works site. Evidence requirements 2.1 Information relating to on-site tasks is provided orally in a complete and concise manner and is clear to the target audience. Range 2.2 includes but is not limited to – site conditions, ground conditions, weather conditions. Information relating to on-site tasks is provided in written form in accordance with company requirements. Range includes but is not limited to – safety, work hours, machine hours, maintenance, materials. Outcome 3 Communicate with site personnel on an infrastructure works site. Evidence requirements 3.1 Communication with site personnel on an infrastructure works site fits the situation, occasion, and relationship between participants.
