Industry practice, for the purpose of this unit standard, refers to the ability to demonstrate knowledge and skills that reflect the productivity, uniformity, finish quality and material economies currently accepted within industry. 3 Legislation relevant to this unit standard includes: Health and Safety in Employment Act 1992 and Health and Safety in Employment Regulations 1995; Resource Management Act 1991. Outcomes and evidence requirements Outcome 1 Demonstrate knowledge of concrete slurry control. Evidence requirements 1.1 Territorial Authority requirements for control of concrete slurry are described. 1.2 Methods for preventing slurry runoff are described in accordance with workplace practice. Range slurry collection devices, surface covers, minimising water. Outcome 2 Control concrete slurry. Evidence requirements 2.1 Slurry runoff prevention is carried out in accordance with Territorial Authority requirements and workplace practice. Range 2.2 wet vacuum unit, containment and removal, soaking into ground. Finished surface protection is carried out in accordance with job requirements and workplace practice. Range use of slurry collection devices, use of surface covers, minimising water. Outcome 3 Complete work operations. Evidence requirements 3.1 All operations are safely completed; workplace and equipment are cleaned in accordance with workplace practice and environmental safety requirements, and routine maintenance is carried out in accordance with workplace practice.
