Training toward assessment against the workplace based unit standards contained in this qualification is confined to those plants throughout New Zealand which have this specialist equipment installed. This qualification recognises the particular skills and knowledge required of trainees in the processes of operating a rotary die cutter printer in the converting of corrugated board. Holders of this qualification are able to produce three or more colour printed board, and operate a printer rotary die cutter both for repeat work and for complex new work in the corrugated packaging industry. This qualification builds upon the skills and knowledge recognised in the National Certificate in Corrugated Case Converting (Level 3) with strands in Flexo Folder Gluer, Rotary Die Cutter Printer, Specialty Gluer, and Flat Bed Die Cutter [Ref: 1202]. Replacement Information This qualification replaced the National Certificate in Corrugated and Solid Board Converting (Rotary Die Cutting and Printing Operator) (Level 4) [Ref: 0509].
