The National Certificate in Barbering recognises the knowledge and skills necessary to provide barbering services in a commercial environment.
People who hold this qualification will be able to consult with a client to determine the client ’s needs, make informed decisions on actions that need to be taken and carry out those actions in a professional manner, cut hair using barbering techniques, shape beards and moustaches, describe the fundamentals of wet shaving, and consult with the client at all times. In addition, they will have demonstrated the range of knowledge and skills required to run an efficient column in a professional barbering shop. All of the standards in this qualification are compulsory because they outline the skills and knowledge required of someone operating as a barber.
